Kona Photon Panel Testing
Please see below for the instructions to test the panel / cable assembly. See the figure below for the pins referenced in the instructions:
- Measure voltage across Pin 1 / Pin 2 with DMM (Digital Multimeter) in DC voltage mode. If the panel is fully illuminated (i.e., direct sunlight), expected voltage will be 24.19V (for both 50W and 100W panels). Though, with the panel under indoor lighting, this voltage may not reach the full scale. Note the polarity that Pin 1 is positive, Pin 2 is reference.
- Measure across Pin 3 / Pin 4 with DMM (Digital Multimeter) in continuity mode. DMM should indicate short between these two pins.
