Please see below for instructions for installing and removing SIM cards for the various Kona Gateways:
Kona Micro Gen1
The SIM holder for the Kona Micro Gen 1 can be found behind the battery cover for the gateway as seen in the picture above.
The Kona Micro Gen1 SIM Holder is a push/pull mechanism. When inserting the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until you hear the "click" and the SIM is securely fastened in place.
To remove the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until a click is heard before the SIM can be removed out
Kona Micro Gen2
The SIM holder for the Kona Micro Gen 2 can also be found behind the battery cover for the gateway as seen in the picture above.
The Kona Micro Gen2 uses a SIM Tray for the installation and removal of the SIM cards. Using a small SIM tool, you can eject the tray by pushing the SIM tool into the small hole on the side of the SIM tray.
Once the SIM tray has been ejected, simply place your SIM card into the SIM tray and re-install the SIM tray. To remove the SIM card, simply eject the SIM tray as you did before.
Kona Macro Gen1
The Kona Macro Gen1 SIM Holder can be found behind the plastic shield on the front of the gateway.
The Kona Macro Gen1 SIM Holder is a push/pull mechanism. When inserting the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until you hear the "click" and the SIM is securely fastened in place.
To remove the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until a click is heard before the SIM can be removed out
Kona Macro Gen1.5
The Kona Macro Gen1.5 SIM Holder can be found directly below the gateway's Serial Port as pictured above.
The Kona Macro Gen1.5 SIM Holder is a push/pull mechanism. When inserting the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until you hear the "click" and the SIM is securely fastened in place.
To remove the SIM, the SIM must first be gently pushed in until a click is heard before the SIM can be removed out
Kona Enterprise
The SIM holder for the Kona Enterprise can also be found behind the plastic shield / cover on the front of the gateway as seen in the picture above.
The Kona Enterprise uses a SIM Tray for the installation and removal of the SIM cards. Using a small SIM tool, you can eject the tray by pushing the SIM tool into the small hole on the side of the SIM tray.
Once the SIM tray has been ejected, simply place your SIM card into the SIM tray and re-install the SIM tray. To remove the SIM card, simply eject the SIM tray as you did before.
